Got these because we always have a last minute freeze in June in Utah high elevation areas. Had one night before last so got to put these to the test. They worked for some plants but not all.If your plants are big enough that they touch the sides of the domes then they are going to get frost bitten with these alone. I also covered the tops with rocks because we had a lot of wind and I didn’t realize that these didn’t come with the stakes you have to buy those separately so I didn’t have those, so I can’t say for sure if the holes in the top would allow frost to get in or not because of that. Also disappointed that for the cost these didn’t come with stakes.What I will be doing with these in the future is using them over the plants but then use a sheet of plastic or fabric or garden frost fabric over the domes. Because when I use just the frost fabric it settles onto the plant and my plants still get frost bitten, but these domes used with the fabric will keep that from happening. So not a total loss, I’ll still keep them and use them for that, however I can’t recommend them to use by themselves unless your plants are super tiny that they won’t touch the sides at all, which means you’ll only have a few weeks at most after planting them to use these. Would need larger ones for larger plants to avoid frost bite. [...]
